The iPhone to Get All Holy on You

note-to-god-iphone-prayer-app

When you say your prayers, be sure your battery is fully charged.  It’s just a thought to keep in mind when 17 year old Allen Wright’s new iPhone app debuts.  It’s called “A Note to God” and it’s designed to let iPhone fanatics, who also happen to be religious fanatics, send out prayers into the depths of cyberspace to be seen by others for support.  Users can remain anonymous and others can show support by giving a thumbs up.  There is no way to thumb down the prayer of somebody else as this is meant to be a positive and supportive application…our sorrows go out the all the sadists. Mustek DV3032 3.1MP Digital Video Camera also Plays MP3s

mustek-dv3032-digital-video-camera

What would be so special about a camcorder also playing MP3s?  One instance I can think of is making a video that replaces the mundane speaking with music that better expresses the mood of the memory I’m trying to capture.  Sure, I could record then try to find the right music, or I could record around the music.  People also seem to be more natrual in front of the camera when there is music playing, making it possible to capture life as it really is.  The Mustekk DV3032 is a camera I wished I had. First look at the BlackBerry Storm 9550, aka the Storm 2

storm-2-screen-on-camera-rm-eng

For those of us who aren’t huge Storm fans this might persuade you a bit, the Storm 2 is expected to be released late October/early November with some improvements. This version will have WiFi! The SurePress technology has improved. When the device is off, there is no give on the screen. But as soon as you power up your device, you can clickety click away, literally as there is a physical click when you press the screen. The hardware and software are still in their early stages of development and aren’t too different than the 9530 at this point in time, but the launch date is still a bit away so they do have time for more improvements. Check out the video after the jump and see the video from CrackBerry. (…Read Some More…)

iSamurai Bluetooth: Can it Get Any Nerdier?

isamurai-iphone-application

Now this is the nerdiest  application for the iPhone I have seen thus far, well, second to the Ocarina.  That is exactly what makes it so great!  I remember the days as a kid when we would play imaginary swords and guns. The problem that often arose is we would argue about who got shot or stabbed first – we couldn’t always use super bullet-proof armor. Now the fight is on! (…Read Some More…)

BlackBerry comes to the Mac platform!

macdesktopsummary

There’s this blogger that I sort of, kind of know, albeit it be through my cyber stalking of her, who is torn between getting the iPhone or the BalckBerry Bold. She has a Mac computer, so most of her “friends” (fellow stalkers) have suggested that since she has a Mac, she should get the iPhone since it is sooo easy to sync with. Well low and behold, the day is about to come that the BlackBerry will sync with the Mac just as easily. That’s right, BlackBerry Desktop Software is launching a Mac platform this September. You will be able to sync your iTunes play lists, contacts, tasks, and appointments. You will be able to install new software and games! Plus you will be able to manage multiple devices from your Mac. And now that BlackBerry is working on a WordPress application to make blogging on the go easier, it should be a no brainer which phone she should pick!

Poltergeists Haunting Cell Phones

060208_mb_Cell_phone_TnGhosts have now found a new way to terrorize people, via text messages. At least that is what some 10 year olds originally thought when they received threatening texts from the “Ghost of Jenny”. Unsure whether a person is behind it or if it is a spambot, a few 10 year olds have received messages from a red-eyed 7 year old ghost who calls herself Jenny. Jenny claims that if they do not forward the message onto 15 others, then she will hunt them down and kill them and their loved ones. To me it’s pretty obvious it’s a sadistic practical joke, but then again, I’m not 10. After the jump is a quick video account of one of the “victims”. (…Read Some More…)

$99 for the BlackBerry Storm is no Surprise, Sounds Familiar

blackberry-storm-iphone-3gIt was only a matter of time that the BlackBerry Storm’s price dropped because it’s only a matter of time that BlackBerry will come out with a 2nd and better edition of their first touch-phone.  Could it be a simple reaction to AT&T’s price drop?  Probably so.  It’s just not good business sense to sell “controversially inferior” (not that we think it’s inferior) phone for more, especially when it has as many reported glitches.  Nonetheless, $99 with a 2-year upgrade is not a bad deal if you’re up for an upgrade or tired of your current, non-Verizon, provider and wish to give the SurePress a try…for 2 years that is.

If you’re about to be a first-time smartphone buyer and just can’t choose between a BlackBerry, iPhone, or Palm (is it even worth listing any others?) then perhaps you should check out the post about WordPress on the BlackBerry.  This just may convince you that $99 is a nice enough deal if you’re a compulsive blogger and a bus or train commuter.

Current Verizon Promotions.

WordPress With Your BlackBerry

wordpress-app-on-blackberry

If you are one of those who just can’t find that one thing to serve as the deciding factor for choosing a particular smart-phone, this may be the stone that tips your scale.  The folks at Wordpress are hard at work on an open source Wordpress for Blackberry app.  This addition will make blogging on the bus a heck of a lot easier.  You won’t be restricted to just making posts, apparently you’ll be able to make as many changes on your CrackBerry as your main blogging machine.  As of this post, Beta 0.9.0.129 is the latest release but that will quickly change before you can drag your eyes across this post. LG GW620 Eve “Rumored” as the First LG Android

lg-android-os-mobile-phoneWe had written an post a bit back that mentions how LG’s CEO was talking about how they plan on becoming the second largest cell phone manufacturer.  The only way this would ever be is if they could effectively compete with the smart-phone market that BlackBerry, Apple, and Palm seem to dominate.  They also need to compete with the more affordable but just as sweet, mobile phone market as well.  Well, a number of blogs are revealing that LG will be coming out with the LG GW620, which will be an Android powered phone.  Good for them but couldn’t they come out with a catchier name?

Benefits of Optimizing Your Site for Smart Phones

logoEver since the Internet debuted to the masses in the 80s, its capacity for how it has impacted the lives of billions has continued to increase at a whirlwind pace. FINALLY July 19th Brings the Release of the Sony Ericsson C905a

Sony Ericsson C905aHoly smokes, only 13 months after AT&T announced the coming of the Sony Ericsson C905a is it finally being unveiled. For $179 it will be hitting shelves July 19th. Frankly, it’s nothing more than a decent digital camera with the ability to make phone calls. On the upside, it is an 8.1 mega pixel camera that comes equipped with red-eye reduction, xenon flash, and face recognition. However, you are stuck with Sony’s beloved Memory Stick Micro format. After over a year of hype, you’d think AT&T would have spent more time on the phone aspect of this 3G cellphone and less time trying to perfect the camera.
