Or the majority of thrifty buyers aren’t Mac fans. Which ever the case a recent report by Betanews shows that Apple has 91% of the market share of computer sales over $1000. Their market share has been increasing since first Quarter of ’08 from 66%.
This doesn’t mean that Apple will be decorating the Christmas tree with diamonds this year because, as Business Insider reports, Apple’s revenue from Macs is shrinking. It’s also a sign that people prefer less expensive computers as Business Insider also points out that PCs sold for an average of $701 in June of ’09 while Windows PCs sold for an average of $515.
Business Insider says that this bit of statistic points out that those who have no issue with spending more on a computer prefer Macs because they are “premium products”. You be the judge.
