Verizon Wireless Fires Hackers of Obama’s Cell Phone Account

barack-300x208Not even the President-elect’s phone is safe from hackers. Or at least not while he was running for president. Verizon Wireless took action and got rid of some employees that had accessed Barack Obama’s cell phone records of a phone he used while on his campaign. According to CNN, those employees had no way of reading sent or received text messages. I believe that to be true because I had tried to retrieve some text messages from my own phone and I got little help. The customer service rep had told me I had to go through the courts and request a subpoena. She couldn’t even access her own text messages though she worked there, or so she said to get me off her back.

CNN’s source had said that this breach was purely from curiosity. Well, curiosity canned those cats.

The kind of information the employees had access to were probably the basics; time of calls, length, and numbers dialed as well as incoming numbers. It’s a good thing Obama isn’t into those 1-900 numbers on his spare time. Or worse yet, a late night phone call to Sarah Palin.
